What Is Freedom County?

Let's start with the official explanation of Freedom County found at www.FreedomIsNotDead.org

To be clear -- the Freedom County project is a concept originated and promoted by non-profit corporation Freedom Is Not Dead, Inc. ("Granny Warrior" Linda Hunnicutt, Incorporator/Organizer) involving the purchase of an acreage to be leased (individual lots with shared common areas),  developed as an "intentional community", and farmed by a group of like-minded "freedom-loving" people. The land is not actually located in a county officially named Freedom County. The property has been "purchased" by means of a Deed of Trust.  The location  of the property is in Detroit, Texas (Red River County, TX).  The acreage has been nicknamed "F.I.N.D. (Freedom Is Not Dead) Family Farm" by the community of people engaged in purchasing/leasing the property.
